Single & Parenting starts February 1, 2018

BEing There Counseling offers a therapy group for single parents who want to use this opportunity to grow and learn new emotional skills. Single parents face unique parenting challenges that are almost unimaginable to two-parent families. The single parent is both mom and dad, with little or no ability to tag team or co-parent. Exhaustion and isolation are unavoidable experiences. You will have to help your children navigate your divorce, and deal with their inherent sense of guilt. You will inevitably struggle with the challenges of joint custody. After all, if you and your ex could interact successfully, you probably would not have divorced. You must console your children when they feel the absence of the other parent. And you often must share custody with an ex whose parenting values and styles vary drastically from your own. You feel the stress of being the sole financial provider. You will struggle to get your own needs met along with those of your children. You will have to find a balance between your work life, social life, and parenting. You may be dating new people who are strangers to your children. You will be called on to help your children navigate step-parent relationships as you or your ex move on to new marriages. And of course, you must process your own grief over the loss of your ideal family picture. And much more.

Learning to navigate the issues inherent in single parenting helps break unhealthy relationship cycles, and gives you the tools to confidently help your children navigate their lives successfully. In this therapy group, you will learn how your own personal issues impact parenting, how to deal with these issues, and improve your parenting skills.

All groups are open and on-going, meaning you can join when you want, attend when you want, for as long as you want, and stop attending when you want. We want this to be an enriching experience!

Space is limited, so you must reserve your space for each session.
Also, we ask that you provide 24-hour notice of cancellation, to avoid being charged. (This way we can offer the space you give up to someone else.)

A $10 Introductory Session is held periodically to explain the group to new registrants, answer any questions you might have, and help you to see if it is right for you.

Submit the opt-in form below with your name and email to receive information about the next Introductory Session for Single and Parenting. You will receive a response telling you when and where the next $10 Introductory Session is scheduled.

If you have any questions, please call Tycee Belcastro at (970) 245-6502.
